WRITERS AND LOVERS by Lily King

A wonderful and introspective read about the challenges of being a writer and young love.

Casey, the main character, is juggling a lot of familiar things to most postgraduates: student loan debts, waiting tables for quick pocket money, trying to find a stable job and living in a tiny apartment. All that to just keep her afloat while working on her dream, finishing her debut novel.

In the midst of it all she falls for two drastically different men, a professor and his student.

“It's always a choice between fireworks and coffee in bed.”

A journey that helps her discover what she truly wants in a partner and what her future could look like in different scenarios.

However, the best part always comes at one ending and another beginning: the moment when Casey becomes one with her dream.

“You don’t realise how much effort you’ve put into covering things up until you try to dig them out.”

I was left with a warm and hopeful feeling at the end of this book. It goes wonderfully with a nice cup of *your preferred drink* and a bit of sunshine.
