BECOMING MYSLEF by Irvin Yalom

A pure delight to read Irvin Yalom’s intimate and touching memoir entitled “Becoming myself”.
The author’s curiosity and passion for science, medicine, psychotherapy, literature and psychiatry made it difficult for me to put this book down even for a short while.
The chapters are organised chronologically from the early pains of leaving home for university to the present moment in his inspiring career.
I was already an admirer of his work but once again, he surprised me with his willingness to open up so sincerely and genuine about his family life but primarily about his wife, Marilyn, the love of his life.
More than that, there is an exciting amount of his previous work mentioned throughout the book that I can’t wait to discover in more depth.
He is one of the few authors that have the power to speak to millions of people in a deeply personal way, giving us the privilege of embracing compassion, love and determination in our own lives.

“Nietzsche's message to us was to live life in such a way that we would be willing to repeat the same life eternally.”
