THE KITE RUNNER by Khaled Hosseini

This book is definitely a page turner and one of the best I’ve read so far.
“The Kite Runner” unfolds the story of two boys in Afghanistan growing up together while it also explores the history of the rise of Taliban in the country.
Along with all the intense and complex situations and characters, this novel is really about humanity.
It has such a big impact around the world because it portrays universal struggles such as friendship, loyalty, longing for acceptance and survival.
I became truly attached to some characters and their story that it was saddening to turn the last page and leave their world.
A masterpiece by many measures, which I warmly recommend.

“There are a lot if children in Afghanistan, but little childhood.”

“I opened my mouth, almost said something. Almost. The rest of my life might have turned out differently if I had. But I didn’t.”

“And that's the thing about people who mean everything they say. They think everyone else does too.”
