THE TATTOOIST OF AUSCHWITZ by Heather Morris

I delayed reading this book for so long as I’ve never felt ready for it, for the pain and terrible distress that comes with a tragedy like Auschwitz.

However, I’m glad I finally did because it also comes down to a beautiful tale of hope, love and support in the midst of unspeakable events.

What is unbelievable is the power of the victims to find purpose to live another day while still showing humanity by helping out each other when possible.

Lale, the tattooist, even found love in literally the darkest of places. There is as much beauty in his story as there is terror.

It was heartbreaking, humbling and inspiring at the same time to see the strength of so many human beings in the face of death and injustice.

This book will move you to the core and put your life into perspective.

“You will honour them by staying alive, surviving this place and telling the world what happened here.”

“To save one is to save the world.”
